Enhancements to International Deals
We’ve added powerful new enhancements in Hours+ designed to simplify timekeeping for your US crew working on international projects, especially those onboarded through Start+. These updates mean less manual work and more precision for your global productions.
What’s New:
- New Column for Country on Invoice Templates: Invoice templates now include a dedicated “Country” column. This allows you to set specific work zone and country values (e.g., “Distant” for work zone, “New Zealand” for country). These values will automatically pre-populate on timecards as they are created, saving you valuable time and ensuring consistency from the start.

Effortless Timecard Creation for International Flat Deals (Pay Schedule I)
- Simplified Entry: In and out times are not required for these deals, as they are treated as on-call exempt classifications
- Automatic Application: While "Work Zone" and "Work Country" values aren’t visible on international timecards itself, they’re automatically applied once submitted to the payroll accountant, eliminating manual entry and reducing errors

New Validation Messages for Accuracy: To ensure accuracy and compliance, Payroll Accountants will now see new validation errors on the Weekly Timecard (WTC) screen for international flat deals:
- Work Country Validation: You'll receive an error if the work country is left blank, or if it's incorrectly set to US or Canada (for international deals, it must be outside these regions)
- Work Location Validation: An error will prompt you if the work location isn't set to "Distant," ensuring proper classification for international flat deals

Our International Deals feature streamlines timekeeping and onboarding for international projects, enabling you to confidently onboard US crew outside US and Canada. This ensures precise, compliant payment according to international terms, eliminating complexities and empowering your projects with global agility and payroll precision.
Self-Service Approval Workflow Builder & Department Management
Build and manage approval workflows with greater control—no support ticket required.
Trusted users on your Hours+ projects can now be granted a Workflow Admin permission, giving them the ability to create and manage:
- Approval workflows
- Departments
- Invoice templates
These settings are now easily accessible via the Project Settings gear icon, making it simple to configure and update workflows and departments as your team’s needs evolve.
Each approval workflow is displayed as its own card for quick reference. Clicking View Workflow opens a visual builder where users can manage the existing workflow.
- All workflows will generate with the default structure Crew Member > Head of Department > Payroll Accountant
- Additional approver levels can be added via the + button once someone has been assigned to the Payroll Accountant approval level
