This release included the following updates:   

  • New and Improved Crew Unified Dashboard 🎉  
    • The new Crew Member Unified Dashboard comes with a new mobile-friendly platform that consolidates access to all Cast & Crew products and services through a single login. This dashboard provides real-time insights and key information tailored to crew members, enhancing efficiency and usability. Key features include a centralized dashboard for easy navigation, quick access to pay stubs, year-to-date financial data, project offers, and timecard management. This update ensures a seamless experience for crew members, allowing them to manage their tasks more effectively.

  • New Login Page Look & Feel 
    • We have a new branded login page, providing a fresh and modern look to improve the user experience. The new design is more intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring a smoother and more efficient login experience. Users can expect a cleaner interface and streamlined access to their accounts.

  • Improved Global Navigation Across All Cast & Crew Digital Products 🎉 
    • We have enhanced the navigation across all digital Cast & Crew products to provide a more cohesive and seamless experience. Users can now navigate effortlessly through all products using the global navigation ‘waffle icon’ to access a consolidated account menu from any product. On a mobile device, a consolidated menu can be accessed via the three-line menu icon. This improvement ensures a consistent and intuitive navigation experience, making it easier for users to find and access the features they need.

  • New Crew Member Registration 
    • The New Crew Member Registration feature allows all employees to register and create their profiles even if they have never been paid by Cast & Crew and don’t have a Start+ offer yet. This enables early enrollment in direct deposit, helping employees receive their first paycheck via direct deposit instead of paper checks. New employees can begin the registration process and provide the necessary banking details for direct deposit enrollment by clicking from the MyC&C login page.  

Project Onboarding

  • Additional Roles and Permissions for Project Collaborators 
    • We have enhanced the Collaborator Panel to allow users with access to the Project Onboarding tool to manage collaborator access at the project level with specific role-based permissions.  
    • Executives can now control editing permissions for certain sections within project requests. This update ensures that collaborators have the appropriate access based on their roles, enhancing project control, security, and collaboration efficiency. Users can now easily manage permissions and collaborate effectively on projects. 
  • Document Attachments and Notes UX/UI Enhancements
    • The Project Onboarding process now features an improved experience for document attachments, allowing studio finance executives to add comments and upload necessary documents more easily. This enhancement streamlines the onboarding process, improving accuracy and efficiency. Users can now access a more intuitive and user-friendly interface for document management during project onboarding.

This release included the following updates:  

  • New Timecard Experience for Crew Members!
    • Crew members will enjoy a better, simpler timecard experience that aligns more closely with what they are accustomed to, featuring a significantly improved mobile experience for those working on set. It’s now easier than ever to create a timecard, check your deal points, and understand the required information.
    • Time entry is now more versatile, allowing you to type “700” or “8:30p” and supporting both standard and military time formats, with each crew member able to choose their preferred display option.
    • Copying to other days is more capable and easier than ever. 
    • New concept: Allowance Units!
      • Crew members now have access to input the number of units for a given allowance. Great for mileage, or daily box rentals.
      • The Department Head now also has access to Units and Rate.   
  • Customizable Timecard Fields
    • Payroll Accountants can specify what fields they want their crew members to fill out. They can even provide specific helper text for each field to help guide their crew.
  • Automatic Allowances
    • Allowances on a deal memo will now automatically be added to the timecard when the crew member creates it.
    • Allowances can also be automated when a Department Head or Payroll Accountant creates crew timecards.
    • Coming soon! Daily timesheets will also automatically add allowances in a later release.
    • Allowances that require a supporting document (such as Non-Taxable Box Rentals) will prompt the crew member to provide the document or give them the option to be taxed on the item instead.
  • Daily and Weekly Allowances
    • Daily Allowances:
      • Based on your choices in Start+, a deal memo allowance can either be applied daily or weekly.
      • Daily allowances consider day types; for example, Sick and Idle days won’t trigger a daily box rental.
      • If you’ve used Showbiz, you’ll find the default behavior for various allowance types and day types matches what you’re used to.
    • Weekly Allowances:
      • Weekly allowances apply regardless of how many or what type of days are worked.
    • Both daily and weekly allowances can be adjusted on a timecard-by-timecard basis – the automation serves as a practical starting point with helpful defaults.
    • As the crew member updates their timecard, Hours+ will keep the allowances in sync with the days worked until the timecard is submitted by the crew member.

  • Home Page  
    • To provide quicker and easier access to your active items, along with a more modern and intuitive experience, we are updating the design and layout of the Studio+ home page.  
    • This update also provides a foundation on which we can build additional functionality in the future, such as insight into your project status.  
    • The new layout will:  
    • Provide easier and quicker access to your active projects, folders, and files   
    • Automatically adjust based on whether you have access to one or multiple projects  
    • The layout for users with access to multiple projects includes:  
      • My Projects = A list of all projects you have access to  
      • My Favorites = Projects, folders, and files that you have favorited  
      • Recents = Projects and folders that have had a file upload within the last 5 days. Note: This is the same behavior as the current home page.  
      • Current and Previous Payroll = A list of all projects that have a file with a week ending date during the current or immediately previous payroll week

    • The layout for users with access to one project includes:  
      • Project folder view = A direct view into the project folder for the project that you have access to   
      • My Favorites = Projects, folders, and files that you have favorited  
      • Recents = Folders that have had a file upload within the last 5 days. Note: This is the same behavior as the current home page.

    • Note that this update does not include enhancements to the following:  
      • Modals

  • Bulk Download on Shared Assets Page  
    • To make it quicker and easier for recipients of shared files to manage multiple files, we added the ability to bulk download files on the Shared assets page. Previously, each file had to be downloaded individually.

  • Quotation Marks for Exact Search  
    • To help you find files more quickly, we introduced a new feature that allows the use of quotation marks in the search box. This enables you to limit your search results to only those items that contain an exact phrase.  
    • Example:   
      • Searching cat mouse script without quotation marks retrieves all results that contain any of the words cat, mouse, or script – in this test environment, it retrieves 193 results
