PSL+: Cross Project Merge 1099/T4A Forms & IRS TAX File

Cross Project Merge (cp1099) will combine all 1099/T4A forms for printing and an IRS Tax File to upload to the IRS Website.

Getting Started

  1. Log in to the server/database of your choice.
    • Please Note: Databases that are located on the same server will be available for merging. Cross-project merge is intended for databases on the same server.

  2. Click the 1099 folder and select Cross Project 1099 (cp1099).

  3. Update data fields to process merge files:
    • Tax year 2021
    • If you have chosen Cast & Crew services for e-filing or printing 1099's, please contact us at support@castandcrew.com so we can provide the TCC code (Transmitter Control Code).
    • If filing independently, TCC codes will need to be obtained through the IRS website at Create IRS TCC Number.
    • All fields are required to be filled out for the file to be generated.
    • Transmitter Information is based on the company codes available within the project.
    • Company Information is based on what is available in the company code within the setup folder.
    • TIN Information is also required and is also based on the company's information.
  4. Once the data fields are completed, click Select Projects to generate the listing of projects, as shown in the example, below:

  5. In the "Include" column, select which projects you wish to merge. Once you have selected all projects to be included, click Collect Data.

  6. An informational prompt will verify each database that is being included in the merged file. Click OK on each loading message for each project to be confirmed.

How to create the different files

IRS FIRE File for e-filing

  1. Select RSTAX/Magnetic and click the Merge 1099 Files button, located on the right side of the screen.

  2. Save the file to the desktop.
  3. If you're using Cast & Crew services, email this file to PSL1099@castandcrew.com
  4. If you're not using Cast & Crew services, you can upload this file to the IRS Fire system.

1099 forms for printing

  1. Select Paper 1099-MISC Form and click the Merge 1099 Files button, located on the right side of the screen.
  2. Save the PDF file to the desktop.
  3. If you're using Cast & Crew services, email the PDF 1099 forms to PSL1099@castandcrew.com.
  4. If you're not using Cast & Crew services, you can print your 1099 forms in this file.

1099-NEC forms for printing

  1. Select Paper 1099-NEC Form and click the Merge 1900 Files button, located on the right side of the page.
  2. Save the PDF file to the desktop.
  3. If you're using Cast & Crew services, email the PDF 1099-NEC forms to PSL1099@castandcrew.com.
  4. If you're not using Cast & Crew services, you can print your 1099-NEC forms in this file.

Please include your signed Attestation to Data Accuracy form (page 3 of the Letter of Intent) with all 1099 files to PSL1099@castandcrew.com on or before January 10, 2022.
