With Hours+, you can eliminate approval bottlenecks on straightforward timecards by skipping an approver in your project’s approval workflow.
This reduces timecard approval cycle times while maintaining full transparency and audit compliance.
Payroll accountants can never be skipped under any circumstances.
This article shows you how to perform this task in both Classic and New experiences.
Steps for Classic Experience
Skipping an Approver
With the timecard you are approving open on the weekly timecard screen, click Skip Approver(s) next to the crew member's name:
Select which approver(s) you need to skip:
| Note: If there are multiple approvers, selecting a higher-level approver will automatically select the approver below. Selecting the approver immediately before the “Skip all approvers and send timecard directly to Cast & Crew” checkbox option will automatically check said checkbox option. |
Click Approve and Skip.
Depending on your project’s settings, you may be required to enter a comment to explain why an approver is being skipped. In our example below, the comment is optional.
Even if it is optional, it helps with transparency to leave a comment:
Lastly, click Submit.
Post Skipping Activity
Once an approver is skipped, the following occurs:
- Skipped users receive email notifications every 30 minutes with employee names and timecard links. No action is required from them.
- The timecard history will be updated to show skipped approvers.
