File Management Improvements
What’s New
- Opening files and folders just got easier. You can now double-click anywhere on a file or folder row to open it, the same way you've always done it in Classic. On search results pages, you'll still click the file or folder name directly to open it.
- Your file sections are saved after downloading. Once you download a file, your selected item stays highlighted so you can take your next action right away, without having to reselect everything.
- Upload destinations are now fixed to your current folder. Files are now uploaded to the current project/folder you are in. The destination folder is no longer editable, reducing the risk of documents being placed in the wrong project or folder.
- Uploads must be made within a folder. The Upload button has been removed from the Home screen and org-level views. To upload a file, navigate to the right folder first, then upload from there. This creates a more predicable experience and makes it easier to confirm you’re in the right place before files are sent.
What You’ll Need to Do Differently
The upload flow has changed. Here’s what to expect:
| Previously | Now |
| Users had to click on the file/folder name directory for it to open | Double clicking anywhere in the file/folder name cell will open the file or folder |
| You could upload files from the Home screen or org-level view. | Navigate to the correct folder first, then upload. The upload option is no longer available from the Home screen or org-level view. |
| You could manually change where an uploaded file would be saved. | The upload destination is set to your current folder and cannot be changed. Confirm you’re in the right place before uploading. |
Focused Search Results Within a Project (New Experience Only)
What’s New
When you access Studio+ from within a project in the New Experience, your search results now stay within that project. You’ll only see files and folders that belong to the project you’re working in, rather than results from across your entire organization.
Why it Matters
Faster, more relevant search. On large productions with extensive file libraries, org-wide search results can be overwhelming. Scoping search to the current project means you find what you need without sifting through unrelated content.
What You’ll Need to Do Differently
No action required. If you’re working within a project in the New Experience, your search results will automatically be limited to that project. If you need to search across your full organization, navigate to the org-level view first.
