“Work Zone” or "Work Loc" refers to a specific location or project where an employee is assigned to work during their shift. Essentially, it indicates which specific job or area an employee is clocking hours for on their timecard.
Please be aware these are defaults in accordance with labor requirements and standard practices, however, many productions have their own policies and you should reach out for your production-specific defaults should you need more clarification. |
- Near By: Shooting location outside of the studio or secondary zone in which the employee is not required to stay overnight, but rather able to return to the studio or home at the end of the workday
- Studio: A shooting location on a soundstage within the studio zone, generally a 30-mile radius from a defined landmark (LA/NY) or City Hall. Specifics depend on where the production is being filmed, and the production type. Please see the Contract Services LA Studio Zone and Secondary Studio Zone map for more info.
- Bus To: Shooting location outside of the studio and secondary zone in which the employee is not required to stay overnight, but rather able to return to the studio or home at the end of the workday. Transportation is provided by production.
- Distant Hires: Shooting location where crew is housed overnight
- Report To: A location where crew will drive within the studio zone and return at the end of the day
